Flight operations across Pakistan faced major disruptions as escalating tensions in the Middle East led to the cancellation of dozens of flights on Saturday.

According to airport officials, a total of 64 two-way flights to various Middle Eastern destinations were cancelled from key international airports. Affected airlines included Pakistan International Airlines, Airblue, Air Arabia, Iran Air, and Qatar Airways.

The highest number of cancellations was reported at Jinnah International Airport, where 20 two-way flights were affected. Routes to major cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Muscat, and Bahrain were among those disrupted.

Over 50 Pakistan Flights Cancelled Due to Middle East Tensions

At Islamabad International Airport, another 20 two-way flights were cancelled, impacting travel to destinations including Doha, Sharjah, and Dammam. Meanwhile, Allama Iqbal International Airport reported six two-way flight cancellations, primarily on routes to the United Arab Emirates.

Operations were also affected at Bacha Khan International Airport, where eight two-way flights were suspended, and at Multan International Airport, where two flights to Dubai were cancelled.

Officials revealed that the disruption is part of a broader trend, with more than 2,700 flights between Pakistan and the Middle East cancelled over the past 35 days. The situation reflects ongoing uncertainty in the region, which continues to impact aviation routes and safety considerations.

Authorities said they are closely monitoring developments and coordinating with airlines to manage passenger inconvenience. Travelers have been advised to check flight schedules in advance and remain updated through official airline channels.

The disruptions highlight the wider impact of geopolitical tensions on global travel and connectivity.
